Our lab services are available to all Moultrie County residents and visitors, regardless of insurance coverage.

Lab Services: What You Need to Know.

Appointment and Payment Details

  • Lab service visits consist of two components:
    • Office visit (provided by MCHD) – payment required at the time of service for office visit, regardless of insurance coverage.
    • Diagnostic testing (provided by Labcorp) – payment options:
      • Pay lab fees at the time of the visit.
      • The MCHD offers a significant discount* on both office visits and diagnostic services – please call for pricing details.
      • Provide proof of insurance and billing information (Labcorp will bill your insurance).
  • Lab services are open to the public.
  • Orders from any area healthcare provider are accepted.

How to Schedule an Appointment.

  • Lab services are available:
    • Monday – Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    • Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Alternative and Early Appointments available by request.
  • Appointments are recommended; Walk-ins are accommodated if possible.
  • Call the MCHD at (217) 728-4114 to schedule an appointment.
  • Your healthcare provider must fax your lab order to MCHD at (217) 728-2650 before an appointment can be scheduled.
  • Please bring your insurance card and photo ID to your appointment if billing your insurance.
  • MCHD submits specimens to Labcorp daily; results are typically available within 48 hours.
  • Labcorp will send your lab results directly to your ordering provider.

  • For insurance-related questions, contact your health insurance carrier (use the customer service number listed on the back of your card). Ask them to confirm your insurance coverage for Labcorp services.

*NOTE: Significant Discounts on Diagnostic Service fees are available to all individuals who choose to pay cash at the time of service, regardless of insurance coverage.
